The Cincinnati Paralegal Association would like to invite you to attend our April General Membership Meeting (CLE Series), which will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 12:00 pm EST via Zoom.  We are thrilled to announce that our speakers for April will be fellow paralegal and CPA member, Lyndsay Sutton, along with her attorney, Philip Williamson.   Lyndsay and Philip will be presenting on Appellate Law for Paralegals and you won't want to miss it!

SPEAKER BIOS

Lyndsay Sutton is a paralegal for the Litigation practice group at Taft, where she assists with case management and drafts various court documents.  She oversees court filings and legal research.  Additionally, she handles document productions and other matters related to discovery.  Prior to joining Taft, Lyndsay worked as a newspaper copy editor for publications including the Cincinnati Enquirer and Orlando Sentinel.  Lyndsay is also a member of the Cincinnati Paralegal Association.

Philip Williamson is a partner at Taft and litigates complex matters in state and federal courts.  He has briefed appeals in multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals, including the Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits, as well as state appellate courts in Ohio, Kentucky, and Georgia.  Philip has also represented amici at both the cert petition and merits states in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Taft, Philip served as a law clerk for Judge Raymond M. Kethledge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Judge Amul R. Thaper of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Judge Lavenski R. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. 

Philip serves of the board of directors for the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Lawyers chapters of the Federalist Society.  He also serves on the 2022 Appellate Editorial Board for Law360.

Philip received his undergraduate degree, with Highest Honors, from Ouachita Baptist University.  He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as the submissions review editor for the Journal of Law and Politics.
