Ohio Innocence Project – 5k Bearcats Dash and Bash
Following the great presentation on September 19, 2018 by the Jennifer Bergeron from the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP) and Robert McClendon and Dean Gillespie, exonerees, the CPA was asked to be a corporate sponsor for another exoneree at the 5k Bearcat Dash and Bash on October 7, 2018. At this event, team support exonerees by having 10 or so people walk with the exoneree and raise money beforehand from friend and family to sponsor the exoneree they are walking with. One of the exonerees, Raymond Towler, had his corporate sponsor back out on him unexpectedly and Mark Godsey, the Director of OIP immediately reached out the CPA to see if we would take over sponsorship. The CPA Board of Directors agreed that this would be a great opportunity.
